According to police, a drug deal went awry in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, recently, leading to a robbery. The incident occurred, police said, when a 19-year-old man was expected to meet two clients at Cambridge Circle to sell marijuana.
Police said the would-be buyers attacked the man. Police said they found him with a large, bloody cut above his eye, which required treatment at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. Police arrested two suspects and they are now facing felony counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy, as well as a misdemeanor simple assault charge. One of the men also faces a felony robbery count.
When facing serious charges such as drug charges, it is often in a defendant's best interest to prepare for the hearings with a strong criminal defense team at their side. Having an experienced team of legal professionals may help in negotiating with prosecutors for a potential plea deal. They may also examine all the evidence and try to have the case dismissed or the charges reduced.
If you find yourself in such a situation, it is important to not take the charges for granted. Such serious charges could lead to long-term or even life-long consequences. Not only will a drug charge conviction lead to fines and potentially significant time in prison, but a criminal record could also affect where a person can live and even the job that they are able to gain later in life. It is not a risk worth taking.
