Person allegedly sells crack to police in Pennsylvania

There are many individuals in Pennsylvania who use drugs for various purposes. These individuals sometimes use drugs for legal purposes such as prescription drugs. However, many others use the drugs illegally. Since the drugs are illegal, they cannot simply go to the local drug store and pick them up. They must buy them from individuals who sell the drugs. This can be a way to make money, but it can also lead to serious drug charges.

A man recently was caught allegedly selling crack to undercover police officers. According to the police, they received information from an informant about a man who was selling crack around town. With the help of the informant, the police allegedly set up a buy with the man. The police say that the informant told the police what the man was wearing and when he approached them, the police arrested him. The man allegedly had the crack he was going to sell in his pocket and later they found additional baggies of crack in his sock according to police.

The man faces multiple charges including drug possession with the intent to deliver. These are serious charges and if convicted the man could be facing significant penalties. However, at this point in time he has not been convicted and may have defenses available to him. These defenses would start with whether the buy set up by the police was legal. Many defenses start with whether the police stopped the person legally and whether they searched them legally. If they did not then the evidence of the drugs may be suppressed and make a conviction very unlikely.

Many people in Pennsylvania are charge with various drug crimes each year. This does not mean that the person is automatically guilty. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and there may be defenses available to them. Experienced criminal defense attorneys understand these defenses and may be able to help protect one’s rights.
